Our last five monthes...

I know! We haven't updated in forever. We've been a bit busy with my pregnancy and the birth of our baby girl...

and perfect!

She is a great baby and doesn't ever fuss unless it's between the hours of 2am - 7am! Ben and I are both doing good and enjoying our little girl.

Saturday we went over to Shelly's to get some pictures of Brooke so here are some of my favorites...

Guess who's going shotgun shopping?!?

Yep that's right... Daddy's little girl needs her protection! As Beth already said we found out we are having a little girl, and of course with the news comes the progressional question of "Is that what you wanted?" I never really liked this question... I mean, how could I possibly choose! I kind of thought that we were going to have a boy, but to find out it is a girl I am way excited. When it really comes down to it, as long as it is healthy, I will be more than happy. We have an echo for Mommy and baby in the next few weeks to see if baby's heart is developing correctly. As of yesterday, all things were looking perfect with the baby's development!

I can finally start buying PINK!

Ben and I went to the Perinatologist today for our ultrasound and guess what?? It's a girl! I think Ben was a bit surprised because he had been absolutely sure that it was a boy, but he was still very excited. I had always thought that I wanted a boy first, but let's face it the girl stuff is sooo much cuter. Even when waiting in the waiting room today before the ultrasound we saw a lady walk in with her baby girl and this baby was very, very cute. She had her ears pierced (not neccesarily something I would do...) and she had so much hair and this big ribbon in her hair that coordinated with her outfit and it was just too cute. I think I had decided then and there that I wanted a girl and as luck would have it...that's what we got!

Even with my bad heart, they said the baby and I were doing great. The baby is supposed to be about 8 ounces at this far along, but she's 9! So already I'm really confident that I'll get what I've always wanted, which of course is a chubby baby! They said everything was measuring right and her kidneys looked good and all other anatomy on her was right where it was supposed to be. The doctor tried looking at the heart, but because it's so early on they won't be able to rule out any congenital heart disease, however they saw that she had all the correct parts and the heart rate was good and everything was normal. The baby and I both have echocardiograms scheduled on December 4th which will be able to better determine if the baby has inherited my heart defect. Even though the baby has a higher risk than normal for that I'm still very confident that she will turn out absolutely perfect!!

I'm really happy to be able to share the good news as it has been few and far between so far this pregnancy! Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and loving. We love you all and I personally couldn't have stayed this positive without you all!

By the way....Her name will be Brooklyn Asay Anderson!

Love you all,

Carpe Diem!!!

Seize the Day!!! I love that thought from the Dead Poets Society. This blog reminds me a lot of that movie... not so much the whole 'seize the day' aspect, but the part where the students are all walking around outside. You know the scene where they all walk to their own beat but eventually they all fall in line together. Looking back we had been walking to our own beat for a while but recently Beth decided that we should "fall in line" and start a blog.

We are still kind of new to this whole blogging thing... I tried my hand writing a WoW blog (if you don't know what WoW is you ain't nerdy enough) but it got pushed aside after some things piled up. But this blog is a new adventure for both Beth and I to tell our story as it happens, kind of like an online journal of sorts. (I bet if Wilford Woodruff were alive today he would probably have an amazing blog!) We look forward to letting anyone who will read know about what we are going through, and hopefully stay in touch with those that we love (and some wierd-o's that find us through google) and share our lives with you all. So with out further ado, we present the best way to kill 15 mins that you should probably spend doing something more productive!
